POOL is conducting a small contest called ‘Design Our Currency’. We will publish and publicly share the entries that come in. This will hopefully work as a reminder when the Government next plans to redesign our currency notes.

Have you noticed that we’ve changed the tagline of POOL magazine from ‘Creative India’ to ‘Business of Design’?

Often the easiest way to problem-solve in a situation is to identify the current situation, determine the aspiration (what the situation should be), locate the gap, and then go about preparing how to fill that gap.

For well over six years, POOL has been bringing to light groundbreaking stories of India’s most creative brains in Design, Art and Innovation. Their journeys and their work have educated us, inspired us, and helped us change this world. As POOL Magazine celebrates its 6th anniversary, our focus is squarely on the future.

Last year I was shocked by the number of design companies that were angered by my request to reveal their Income Tax Return (ITR) as part of the criteria to enter ‘India’s Best Design Studio Awards’.

Most creative people have this doubt about whether they are ‘artists’ or mere ‘workers’. I would say it is good to have your feet on both sides, but when it comes to your survival and reputation, it’s better to be professional.
